It's not really about muscles or ligaments
We’ve got it!
Everyone knows how to stretch. But very few know how to use stretching to heal and get fit.
The Stretch Therapy™ method combines various science-based techniques and exercises designed specifically for adults. These stretches are simple yet highly effective, enhanced by powerful relaxation methods to achieve optimal results.
In our classes, exercises are tailored to your needs, with the option of using simple props when necessary. Whether you're a seasoned athlete or someone with limited flexibility, we'll help you find the perfect stretch.
Our goal is for you to cultivate inner strength and flexibility, and experience ease in mobility .
Stretch Therapy Techniques
The Contract‒Relax (C‒R) technique is at the core of the multi-discipline Stretch Therapy approach.
Our Stretch Therapy C-R method involves 3 stages, actively engages the central nervous system and incorporates breathing techniques.
Partnered poses are added to increase proprioceptive feedback and to make it easier to hold the stretch position.
Stretch Therapy exercises are complemented by Deep Relaxation and other supportive techniques to maximize effectiveness and overall well-being.
The Result
Deeper and long-lasting stretches without the usual ‘pain’ sensation that some people experience while doing stretching exercises. Those who are familiar with the Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) method employed by other therapists will feel the difference immediately.
All these are put together with the foremost considerations of safety and effectiveness.
The instructors brought us very thoroughly exercises from heads to the ankles. My muscles felt worked out in a very good way after the workshop. Highly recommended for all ages, body types, genders and fitness levels. A stretch a day does keep the aches and tightness at bay!

entreprenuer, former taekwondo and cross-fit enthusiastHad extreme shoulder pains which started from working at home during Covid. Consulted many different physiotherapists and tried all sorts of treatments both in Melbourne where I’m residing and in Malaysia. Was recommended to Stretch Therapy and after just a few sessions with Wai Kuan who taught me very effective stretching exercises and corrected my posture, I’m pleased to say I'm almost fully recovered today.

Practising only Stretch Therapy and Wú-style 吳家 tàijíquán 太極拳 including tuī shǒu 推手 (push-hands) since 2017, I’m in the best shape of my life!
I used to run, swim, play squash and work out in conventional gyms. Stretch Therapy resolved my long-standing back, knee and ankle pains and is exceptionally helpful in advancing my tàijíquán ability.
My paper qualifications include Stretch Therapy and CELTA teacher certifications, degrees from the Universities of Warwick and Cambridge and the CFA® charter. I disengaged from the rat race at the age of 37 to help build a better Malaysia. That included revitalising policy research centre REFSA, authoring 2 best-sellers on the federal government budget and serving as a Petaling Jaya city councillor besides teaching taichi at the Royal Lake Club.
My efforts are now focused on holistic living including teaching Stretch Therapy and nurturing a 3½-acre sustainable organic Biodynamic farm with Wai Kuan.

I used to teach yoga and already held a 500-hour yoga teacher certification, ran my own home studio, taught at MNCs, and served as a regular relief teacher at the esteemed yoga school, Manasa Yoga, but I wanted more. …
I sought to alleviate my neck and back pain, as well as thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS), along with the myriad issues my students faced. I discovered the tools I needed during a workshop with Stretch Therapy founder Kit Laughlin in 2015.
Over the next two years, I immersed myself in Kit Laughlin's books and videos while seeking clarification directly from him via emails. Eventually, I was accepted as a Laughlin apprentice and granted a scholarship for the Teachers' Intensive Course in Australia.
Prior to yoga, I spent over 20 years in financial services, as an auditor, financial controller, and investment banker and managed a translation business. I am a UK-trained Chartered Accountant.
Beside Stretch Therapy, I am also practising Taiji and Qi Gong.
